In December 2022, I stumbled upon a brilliant open mic night in my local pub, The Old Crow in Hove (massive thank you to host John Lithgow).

I was blown away by some of the performances, as well as the confidence people had to get up there and perform in front of strangers.

Fully addicted to open mics (free live music!), I have had the honour of meeting some extremely talented musicians and lovely people.

The first scoop is the finest isn’t really a music blog, I don’t pretend to know enough about music. This is about people’s lives and what music means to them, their experiences, hopes and aspirations and celebrates their journey so far. 

It’s an incredible privilege to sit down with anyone and find out more about their life. I hope you enjoy their stories as much as I do.
